Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Day shift, 4x12-hour schedule (07:00 - 19:30). Must work every other weekend and holidays as needed.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for a high-risk Labor and Delivery unit. The RN will operate in a fast-paced and high-acuity environment, responsible for both mother and baby care during and after delivery.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care in a high-risk Labor and Delivery setting.
• Function as a Baby Nurse during deliveries, providing continuous care for newborns until transfer to postpartum.
• Administer medications and perform newborn assessments including administration of Vitamin K and eye care.
• Collaborate with obstetricians and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care.
• Monitor fetal heart rates and document findings in the electronic medical record (Epic).
• Float as required to postpartum and antepartum units as needed.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in high-risk Labor and Delivery nursing.
• Current certifications: BLS, and NRP. Preferred: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced or Intermediate.
• Active compact nursing license is required.
• Strong references from previous supervisory roles are mandatory.
