Registered Nurse (RN) - High Risk Labor & Delivery

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Day shift, 3x12-Hour schedule (07:00 - 19:30). Must work every other weekend and holidays as needed.

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse for a high-risk Labor & Delivery unit. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong clinical expertise in managing high acuity patients, particularly during labor and delivery. The nurse will function as a Baby Nurse during deliveries, ensuring the safety and care of newborns until transfer to postpartum.

Responsibilities

• Provide care during labor and delivery, including circulating in the OR for Cesarean sections.
• Conduct newborn assessments and administer vital injections (e.g., eye prophylaxis, Vitamin K).
• Manage high-risk antepartum and postpartum patients.
• Utilize electronic fetal monitoring and EPIC charting systems effectively.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive patient care.
• May float between postpartum, antepartum, and assisting in the NICU as needed.

Required Experience & Certifications

• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in high acuity settings, preferably within Labor & Delivery.
• Current RN license with compact privileges.
• Must provide proof of BLS and NRP certifications; ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, and Intermediate certifications are preferred.
• Submit current supervisory references.
• Pass a clinical review prior to starting the assignment.
