Registered Nurse - Women's Services

Job Description

The Women's Services unit is dedicated to providing high-quality care to laboring patients. We promote patient choice and support vaginal birth opportunities tailored to individual preferences. Our unit includes a mix of labor and delivery beds, swing rooms, and operating rooms, all equipped for optimal patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced nursing care during labor and delivery.
• Perform procedures including circulating in OR, IUPC, FSE, and management of post-partum hemorrhage.
• Utilize nitrous oxide and MgSO4 as indicated.
• Work collaboratively with unit staff, including midwives, CRNAs, and OBGYNs, to personalize birth experiences.
• Support couplet care in the postpartum unit, promoting breast-feeding and facilitating the bonding experience between mother and newborn.
• Attend to high-risk deliveries with the dedicated Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) in-house 24/7.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current RN licensure.
• ACLS, BLS, NRP certifications.
• Experience with fetal monitoring.
• Skills in advanced techniques such as Spinning Babies and STABLE are helpful.
