Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Night shift, 4x12-hour (18:00 - 06:00), with options for 36 or 48 hours per week.

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse to join our Labor and Delivery unit. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in maternal care, capable of providing high-quality nursing care to mothers and newborns.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for expectant mothers during labor and delivery.
• Monitor fetal heart rates and maternal vital signs.
• Assist with high-risk deliveries and Cesarean sections.
• Educate parents on childbirth, infant care, and breastfeeding.
• Administer medications and manage patient pain relief methods.
• Perform necessary medical procedures, such as amniocentesis and epidurals.
• Ensure adherence to safety and quality protocols.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, with a preference for Labor and Delivery.
• Current state or compact RN license.
• Certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Beginner, AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, NRP.
• Previous charge experience is preferred.
• Experience with Epic charting system is required.
