Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

3x12-hour night shifts (19:00 - 07:30) with every other weekend and holiday coverage as required.

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) for a busy high-acuity unit. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive care to laboring patients and assist during deliveries. This role requires expertise in managing high-risk situations and familiarity with a variety of medical procedures and technologies.

Responsibilities

• Administer care to laboring patients, ensuring high standards of clinical practice.
• Assist with high-risk deliveries, including C-sections and vaginal births.
• Monitor fetal heart rates and recognize abnormal patterns, intervening as necessary.
• Perform necessary medical procedures such as epidural anesthesia, IV management, and neonatal resuscitation.
• Maintain accurate and thorough documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR) using Epic.
• Coordinate care with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory therapy and pharmacy.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in Labor and Delivery nursing.
• Current and active RN license in good standing.
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP required; AWHONN Intermediate preferred.
• Experience with Epic charting system is mandatory.
• Previous charge experience is a plus.
