Registered Nurse - Observation Unit

Job Description

This position requires a knowledgeable Registered Nurse to assess, implement, and monitor patient care for outpatients assigned to observation status. The role involves evaluating treatment plans, providing direct patient care, and collaborating with healthcare team members to improve patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Regularly assess patients' needs and deliver skilled nursing services according to physician-directed care plans and established nursing standards.
• Provide direct patient care, including medication administration, treatments, and assistance with transfers while responding promptly to alarms and call lights.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of treatment plans and actively participate in updating or revising care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
• Process physician orders and accurately perform prescribed medical care in a timely manner.
• Monitor medication changes and follow up on order clarifications.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 2+ years of observation experience (Required)
• Experience with Epic EMR (Preferred)
• Active American Heart Association BLS certification (Required)
• Valid Michigan RN License (Required)

Schedule

This position offers a shift from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM with a 36-hour guarantee. Weekend work is required every other weekend.
