Registered Nurse (RN) - Day Shift

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by assuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees. You will support patient and employee safety with a proactive approach to personal and environmental safety in accordance with policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission to form individualized care plans.
• Identify teaching needs and goals related to each patient’s diagnosis through collaboration.
• Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and timely.
• Participate in patient rehabilitation programs and oversee direct patient care using the nursing process.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from the day of admission.
• Communicate pertinent changes in patient status to ensure continuity of care.
• Supervise and provide training to ancillary nursing personnel.
• Contribute positively to the unit's environment and team dynamics.
• Maintain communication regarding service needs and monitor supplies.
• Assume charge responsibility as requested following the orientation period.
• Pursue professional development through continuing education and self-study.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
• ACLS certification required for specific locations prior to first shift.
• Minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience highly desired.
