Registered Nurse - Surgical Services

Job Description

As a Registered Nurse in Surgical Services, you will demonstrate proficiency and independence in caring for patients undergoing various surgical procedures, including Orthopedic, General, Podiatry, GYN/OB, Pain Management, Urology, and Endoscopy. Your responsibilities will include applying and documenting the nursing process, collaborating with healthcare teams, continuing education, and maintaining clinical competencies to ensure safe patient care.

Responsibilities

• Assess and document patient care according to nursing standards.
• Consult with staff, physicians, and management on patient care issues and hospital policies.
• Promote positive public relations for the department and hospital.
• Demonstrate effective communication and problem-solving skills with patients and families.
• Maintain and encourage teamwork within the department and with other healthcare professionals.
• Support the hospital's mission and comply with policies and procedures.
• Participate in quality activities and legal compliance training as required.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a related nursing specialty preferred.
• Current RN license in the state of New Mexico is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications are required.
• Verbal Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI) certification is required.

Schedule

This is a full-time position with a shift of 06:00-16:00, working 4 days a week, 10 hours per day.
