Registered Nurse - Pre-Op Unit

This is a 12-hour day shift position, with variable hours from 0530 AM to 6 PM, working a 12x3 schedule.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Pre-Op Unit will provide high-quality nursing care to patients in the pre-operative phase. The RN will collaborate with the surgical team to ensure patients are safely prepared for surgery.

Responsibilities

• Assess and evaluate patient conditions before surgical procedures.
• Prepare patients for surgery by providing information and emotional support.
• Administer medications and perform necessary interventions as prescribed.
• Monitor and document patient vital signs and responses to treatment.
• Coordinate with the surgical team to ensure seamless patient care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in the Pre-Operative Unit.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIH certifications required.
