Registered Nurse - Surgical Trauma

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Night shift, 12 hours, 3 days a week. Must be willing to work given shifts; block schedules are not available.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for a high acuity floor specializing in surgical trauma. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar specialty and demonstrate strong clinical skills and abilities to manage surgical patients, including those with gunshot wounds and spinal cord injuries.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to surgical trauma patients.
• Monitor patients' conditions and maintain detailed records.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Participate in patient handoffs during shift changes with nursing and admission staff.
• Maintain a patient-to-nurse ratio of 5:1.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Active RN licensure required.
• BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred.
• EPIC experience required.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in surgical trauma nursing.
